Planting Hope, One Tree at a Time
In a city gasping for breath, planting trees is no longer an option—it’s a necessity. Delhi, one of the most polluted cities in the world, urgently needs green cover revival to fight smog, heatwaves, and climate change.
That’s why Nirmala Foundation is launching a massive Tree Plantation Drive—with a target of 1,000 trees across 10 key locations in Delhi.
We are not just planting trees—we’re growing shaded streets, cooler air, better health, and greener futures.
Project Goal
To plant and maintain at least 1,000 healthy saplings in urban and peri-urban areas of Delhi, along with protective covers, compost, and community involvement for long-term care.
Why This Project is Needed
- Delhi loses hundreds of trees yearly to construction, heatwaves, and neglect
- Air pollution, urban heat islands, and respiratory illness are rising dangerously
- Slum and school areas lack shade, oxygen flow, and cooling greenery
- Children grow up in concrete jungles, unaware of nature and biodiversity
Each tree we plant:

What We Will Provide
- Carefully selected native saplings (fruit, flower & shade trees)
- Protective metal jali or plastic covers for young plant safety
- Compost, watering support, and soil preparation
- Location-wise monitoring, replanting if needed, and community volunteers

- Plaques or boards for awareness, donor mention, and eco-education
