Child Medical Assistance by Nirmala Foundation
A Health Crisis We Can’t Ignore
Every day in India, children suffer from diseases that could be treated—if only their families could afford it. From newborns with congenital defects to teenagers battling chronic illness, lack of access to healthcare continues to claim young lives. Child Medical Assistance is more than a term. It’s a lifeline.
At Nirmala Foundation, we offer direct, compassionate, and timely medical assistance to children in critical need. Whether it’s surgery for a heart defect or long-term cancer care, we ensure that poverty is never a reason a child suffers. This page explains how we do it, how you can support us, and how to seek help.
What is Child Medical Assistance?
Child Medical Assistance refers to urgent and essential medical support provided to underprivileged children who are unable to afford treatment. This includes:
- Surgeries (heart, neuro, orthopedic)
- Cancer and chemotherapy treatment
- ICU and ventilator care
- Chronic illness management (thalassemia, epilepsy)
- Emergency accident or burn care
- Long-term recovery and rehabilitation
We at Nirmala Foundation fill the gap left by overstretched public systems and unaffordable private hospitals. With strong partnerships, verified hospital networks, and donor support, we bring real-time care where it matters most.
Who We Help
Not every child qualifies for free or subsidized treatment through government schemes. That’s where we step in.
We support:
- Children from BPL (Below Poverty Line) families
- Kids with life-threatening diseases (cancer, congenital heart defects)
- Orphaned or abandoned children
- Children in rural and slum areas without healthcare access
- Families with partial insurance but unaffordable treatment gaps
Our application process is simple, empathetic, and fast-tracked.
How Nirmala Foundation Provides Child Medical Assistance
We don’t just donate money. We design a complete recovery plan. Here’s how it works:
1. Medical Case Verification
- We receive cases via phone, email, field workers, or hospitals
- Our team verifies diagnosis and documentation within 24–48 hours
2. Hospital Referral & Tie-ups
- Partner hospitals include AIIMS, Safdarjung, and select pediatric clinics in Delhi NCR
- We ensure the child is admitted or seen by a specialist immediately
3. Financial Assistance & Crowdfunding
- Based on severity, we cover 50–100% costs
- In complex surgeries, we activate emergency donor networks and crowdfunding
4. Follow-up and Nutrition
- Once treated, children receive post-op support: nutrition kits, medicines, transportation
- Families are educated on long-term care and checkups
Real Stories. Real Impact
Rani (Age 5) – Congenital Heart Surgery
Rani’s parents are daily wage workers in Outer Delhi. Her diagnosis required surgery costing ₹1.8 lakhs. We arranged a tie-up with a private hospital, raised funds, and post-surgery care. Today, Rani is back in school and smiles without gasping.
Iqbal (Age 9) – Leukemia Treatment
After his diagnosis, Iqbal needed urgent chemo but his parents could barely afford two meals a day. We worked with donors to fund all six rounds of chemotherapy and helped his mother with job training during his recovery.
Every ₹1,000 you donate writes another story of survival.
