Blind Centre Support Program
Every day, many people with complete or partial blindness face life without proper food, clothing, or family support. For them, simple daily tasks are a struggle—and surviving without assistance is nearly impossible.
At Nirmala Foundation, we’re proud to sponsor a blind centre in Kerala, where we help provide regular food and clothes donations to the visually impaired residents. These donations may seem basic—but for the people living there, they are life-changing.
This centre is a safe home for many visually challenged individuals who have either lost their families or have been abandoned due to their condition. Our ongoing support gives them not just necessities, but dignity, stability, and human connection.
What We Provide at the Centre
We focus on practical, meaningful help that makes day-to-day living easier for blind residents.
Our contributions include:
- Daily or weekly nutritious food donations (grains, vegetables, cooked meals, dry rations)
- Clothing donations, including daily wear, undergarments, bedsheets, and blankets
- Festival support—we distribute sweets and new clothes during Diwali, Eid, and Christmas
- Providing walking sticks, personal care items, and winter essentials when available
- Emotional care and visits to build relationships and ensure they don’t feel forgotten
“They may have lost their sight, but they should never lose hope or human care.”

Why Supporting the Visually Impaired Matters
People at the blind centre did not choose their condition. Many were born this way or lost their vision due to illness or accidents. Most have no family, no job, and no income—and are fully dependent on the centre’s support for survival.
Despite their limitations, these individuals show incredible resilience, talent, and warmth. Some help in the kitchen, sing devotional songs, or even guide newer residents with their routines. But they still need:
- A regular supply of fresh meals
- Clean clothes and personal hygiene products
- Human connection, compassion, and moral support
- Community love and a reason to smile
Without outside help, the centre struggles to meet their daily needs. Even a short delay in donations means going to sleep hungry, cold, or unwell.
How You Can Help
You don’t need to be in Kerala to make a difference.
Here’s how you can support our Blind Centre Program:
- 🍛 Sponsor daily or monthly meals—even a ₹500 donation can feed multiple residents
- 👕 Donate clean clothes (new or gently used) for men and women
- 💰 Contribute funds for blankets, walking sticks, or basic care kits
- 🧑🍳 Partner with us if you run a kitchen, ration shop, or wish to donate in bulk
- 📩 Connect with us directly if you’d like to visit or host a donation drive in their name
Even if they can’t see your face, they will feel your kindness.
Let’s not leave them behind—let’s lift them with love.
